Will Kevin Costner appear in new Yellowstone 1923 spin-off series? As fans ‘miss him’

Kevin Costner left Yellowstone in season five part one, and in the series finale, his character John Dutton III was killed off. So will he make an appearance in the new prequel series 1923?

The second season of 1923, the Yellowstoneprequel spinoff, is set to return this Sunday on Paramount Plus.

The series, which takes viewers back to the Prohibition era with the Dutton family in 1923 Montana, will premiere on Feb. 23.

This generation of the Dutton family features Helen Mirren (Cara), Harrison Ford (Jacob), Brandon Sklenar (Spencer), Darren (Jack) and Isabel May (Elsa).

They are the forebears of rancher John Dutton III, portrayed by Kevin Costner in the original Yellowstone series, around whom the story revolves along with his modern-day family.

Given that Yellowstone 1923 is set years before John’s birth, it seems unlikely that Kevin would make a cameo. There has also been no recent chatter about Kevin returning to the franchise.
