Kevin Costner Confesses the Real Reason for Leaving “Yellowstone”
Kevin Costner has recently shared the underlying reasons for his departure from the hit series “Yellowstone.” The decision was primarily driven by prolonged and challenging negotiations over the division of Season 5 into two parts. Costner noted that there were no scripts ready for the second part of the season and the first part was not yet completed, which significantly disrupted his schedule (Wide Open Country) (Southern Living).
Another major factor was Costner’s commitment to his own project, “Horizon: An American Saga.” The demands of filming “Yellowstone” clashed with the production of his new Western epic, making it difficult for him to manage both projects simultaneously (Wide Open Country) (Daily Jang).
Financial disagreements also played a role. Costner mentioned that he was offered less money for the new seasons compared to his previous earnings, which he found unsatisfactory. Despite efforts to negotiate a fair deal, an agreement could not be reached (Wide Open Country) (Daily Jang).
Furthermore, personal issues, particularly his ongoing divorce, added to the strain and influenced his decision to leave the show (Southern Living).
